DAD OR SUPERDAD: MEMOIRS OF A SINGLE DAD

This blog is for dads. I will do my best to inspire as I aspire to be the best dad i can be. For those that aspire to be better, please read on.

4/20/24 Day 1 / Night 1

It is currently 4 a.m. and i cannot sleep. My inner voice won’t let me, it kept repeating “If not now, when?”. Thus, here I am, and I would like to welcome you to my blog. This blog is a shared journal for a path. A path I know well. A path that leads one from being ordinary to extraordinary. The path i will take is not easy, and it takes dedication. If one wants to become an extraordinary person, one must do extraordinary things. To define extraordinary, one must define ordinary. Ordinary is to make excuses, to sleep in, to always hit snooze, to take the easy path, the shortcut, to take days off, reps off, to spend countless hours mindlessly staring at screens or scrolling on their phones, etc etc etc. There are many ordinary things. Hence the word. You get the point. I am a firm believer in alchemy, which means that if you want to get something, you must give something up. Therefore, if one wants to become extraordinary, one must give up the ordinary. I am not saying to quit sleeping, watching tv and those other things all at once, but to slowly replace old stagnant habits with new growth creating habits. I make you this promise right now. I will be working to give up the ordinary as well. I promise to log on give it my all every day of this journey, i hope that you comment and interact with my entrees/ vlogs as well as in the Superdad Forum. Hopefully, you can inspire me, and I can inspire you. I welcome and am aleays open to advice and input. The only goal, for all of us, is growth. Each day I will share new strategies and insights for habit forming and mindset that i will be using as well. I will be clear. These strategies were not created by me. I have read hundreds of self help books and cherry picked the best exercises/methodologies to heal and to grow. The ones I highlight are the ones that work best for me. I am not preaching anything nor am I promising you anything. All of this information is free. All I ask is that no matter how outlandish anything seems to just give it a try. I promise if you make small changes every day and give every day your all, in 30 days you won’t recognize yourself and in 90 days you’ll have superpowers. No, you won’t fly. But yes, you may have increased intuition or much greater clarity and presence in social situations. There are so many possibilities when you open and cleanse your mind, body and soul. Tomorrow the journey begins. I hope you’ll join me as a fellow future super dad. Tomorrow, we begin.

. Youll be feeling I want you to make a commitment to become the man you always knew you could. The man that you know who is just waiting to reach his potential. And in turn, I hope to the same. I am you. This is our journey. Let’s level up. Every hero has his moment. No matter how far you go down a path, you can always turn around. And remember, failures can be the greatest catalysts for growth.

I will seperate my daily entry into four parts:

1. Schedule/bullet points for when/why i engage in each activity

2.Will be a reminder of gratitude, prayer, love, or however you choose to be thankful, or things that youre thankful for

3. I will highlight a new activity or old and why that activity aids in my progree

4.Long term/short term goal updates

Who am I? I am a 40 year old single dad. I have a 2 year old daughter. I love her more than anything in the world. She is my world, and I want to give her the best life possible. That is why i am here. I have flirted with being extraordinary years ago, but I lost my way. Also, having my ex of 3 days knocking on my door, pregnant, didnt help… I am writing this blog for a multitude of reasons. First and foremost, I find that we as men struggle to share and instead we bottle things up, by not sharing we are literally holding negativity inside of ourselves. This can a

have tremendous impacts on our healthand in time my goal is to make this blog a to help me find my way home, back to extraordinary. Hopefully, I can inspire you along the way and we can become superdads together. The world always needs more superdads! It is close to 5 am. My daughter will be here in 3 hours. Goodnight friends.

Adderall. Lexapro. Xanax. Prozac. Valium. Marijuana. Mushrooms. You name it, I’ve probably been prescribed it. Or tried it. Always legally. Over the years I’ve tried many different medications to treat my ADHD, Depression and anxiety. Not to mention, I am also on the spectrum. Over the years, doctors prescribed me different medications and I also self medicated with alcohol and marijuana. While nothing completely “worked” I did seem to notice a pattern, and that was that while each medicine seemed to alleviate one of my symptoms, they also seemed to each cause some sort of side effect. These medications were a true example of equivelant exchange.
